UNBC Fourm

So last night there was a candidates of council forum up at UNBC in the Canfor Theater. The Mayoral one on November 9th in the same location. It was not very well attended by the voters which was disappointing, but it was still a good place to hear the views and opinions of all that are running for council in the up coming election. I have posted a link to an article from the Prince George Citizen at the bottom of this post that talks about the UNBC forum as well.

Two candidates have dropped out of the election due to time constraints and conflicts with work. Tony Ferreira and Bard Grantham will be missed on the ballots and this brings the total down to 18 running for council. I have put the e-mail addresses and twitter accounts of all the candidates for mayor and council. I chatted with a lot of the council candidates last night and all seem very interested in this project. I hope that this site takes off and help the citizens of Prince George get out and make informed votes! #iheartPG

Our First Response

Hey everyone the site has gotten it`s first response from a candidate running for council. Many thanks to Jordan Gadsby for participating in this project. I will be attending the All Candidate forum tonight up at UNBC at 5:30pm to spread the work to the other candidates and hear them speak. Please come up and show your support and hear what they have to say. Please inform yourself before voting and help Prince George become an amazing place to live. #iheartPG

Quick Update

I have added a the lists of candidates to the Mayoral and Council pages. My goal now is to get each candidate to submit a 250 to 500 word write-up explaining why you should vote for them. If all goes well you will be able to come to one place and get all the information you need to vote instead of surfing the web for a few hours trying to find info. I will post the forum dates and times as I get them and news articles I find on-line will get posted here to with links to the original websites. When a list of place and times to vote comes out I will post that as well.

The site had 29 views in its first day and I only tweeted it once. I kept the site on the down low yesterday just so I could finish updating it. One of those 20 views came from CKPG news here in town and they have contacted me about the site. They just want to talk for now, but if that goes well then that will give the blog some validity and hopefully get the candidates to take it seriously. Fingers Crossed!

Prince George Citizen – Candidates’ first face off

The first all candidates forum was on Saturday October 15th, 2011 at the Fire Pit down town on third avenue. The topic of this forum was Homelessness in Prince George.  The Prince George Citizen did up a great article here”Candidates’ first face off“. Check it out to see how some of the candidates did. The next forum is on October 19th, 2011 at UNBC by the political science department. As soon as I have a room number and time I will update this post.

Welcome

I have been looking around for City of Prince George Election news and haven’t found a place that covers it all. I have been asked by many people if there is such a place that they can go to read about each candidate, what their platform is, and what they hope to achieve if elected. In failing to find a place I have taken it upon myself to try to put something together so that others can get informed. This site is for people looking for a comprehensive place to get all their Prince George Election Information in one shot. If you have anything you would like to add to the site please e-mail me at kcreamore@gmail.com.

This is going to be an unbiased blog and I would hope that any slagging of candidates be left off the site. There is no room for attacks on people here and rude comments will be deleted.
